SVGPA Overview
St.Vincent and The
Grenadines comprises 32 islands and cays, of which 9 are inhabited. The largest is
St.Vincent, where the nation’s capital, Kingstown, is located. The
St.Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority (SVGPA) is responsible for
the operation and administration of the Port of Kingstown, the nearby
Campden Park Container Port (CPCP) and the Cruise and Ferry Terminal.
Away from the
intensity of cruise ship arrivals and cargo handling operations on
mainland St.Vincent, many of the quiet easy going Grenadines have ports
of their own. The outstanding beauty and tranquility of the Grenadines
have proved a major attraction for visiting cruise ships and yachts. So
aside from Ports Kingstown and Campden Park, Mustique, Bequia, Union
Island and Canouan have all been designated ports of entry under the
administration of the SVG Port Authority.
