Port Authority celebrates 50th Year of Deep-water Pier

Over the month of October, the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority celebrates the 50th anniversary since the commissioning of the Deep Water Pier at capital city, Kingstown. To commemorate this special occasion in the life of the Port a month of activities is planned under the theme "Celebrating 50 Years - Globally Connected, Locally Invested". The theme underscores the serving of the pier in connecting the multi-island state, not only with the neighbouring islands, but also on an international scale - through investment in the associated harbour front real estate and support from employees and manned machines.

Activities began on Thursday 2nd October with the official launch of the 50th anniversary celebrations at the Kingstown Cruise Terminal.
